Curtis “Butch” K. Owens

Butch Owens, age 74 of Cowarts, Al. died early Monday morning July 2, 2018 in a local hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday July 3, 2018 in the Chapel of the Angels at Family First Funeral Care with the Rev. Todd Thorpe of Watermark Church officiating and Family First Funeral Care directing. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Tuesday.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Watermark Church building fund, 103 Elmer Road Ashford, AL 36312.

Mr. Owens was born in Houston County, Al son of the late Edwin Owens and Freddie Crawford Owens.  Butch was a native and lifelong resident of Houston County and retired from a career with Couch and later APAC Southeast Gulf Coast concrete contractors.  He served in the Army National Guard for seven years, was a member of Watermark Church in Ashford and had a special love for gardening. 

Survivors include his wife Marie Watson Owens of Cowarts, 2 sons Rusty (Joely) Owens of Dothan, Christian Owens of Cowarts, his daughter Becky (Jeff) Davis of Chapin, SC, 2 brothers Dan (Margaret) Owens of Albany, Ga Boyd (Sandy) Owens of Huntsville, Al 4 grandchildren Gracie and Josie Owens, and Rileigh and Jasmin Davis.  Butch was also preceded in death by his sister Elizabeth Renfroe.
