Dorothy Anderson, age 83 of Cottonwood passed away early Monday morning, August 26, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her family and under the care of Covenant Hospice.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottonwood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10 am.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Houston County on May 12, 1936 to the late Harvey Lee  and Eula Mae Love Traylor.  She was of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Cottonwood. She enjoyed search a word and jig-saw puzzles in her spare time.   Mrs. Anderson was a very loving and dependable woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anderson is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Anderson; her brother, Lloyd Traylor; her sister, Christine Traylor; and a special nephew, Stevie Johnson.

Surviving relatives include her children:  Debra Roney (Mike) of Dothan, Ronnie Anderson (Sasha) of Midland City; Bo Anderson(Stephanie) of Cottonwood; six grandchildren Shea Farmer, J.C. “Scooter” Anderson (Christy), Andy Farmer, Wesley Anderson, Danny Anderson, Sierra Anderson;  five great grandchildren Kile Miliner, Lara Leah Farmer, Noah Anderson, Calliegh Anderson, Kinsleigh Trawick; a sister Doris Johnson; a brother Earl “Cootie” Traylor (Nita); a sister in law Betty Traylor; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Will Johnson. 

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Covenant Hospice and Cynthia Edmond with Oxford Care and special "sister" Jeretha Brannon for the care provided to Mrs. Anderson.
