Fletcher Marshall Moore, Sr.

 

Fletcher Marshall Moore, Sr., age 84 a longtime Dothan businessman passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the home of his daughter surrounded by family.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in the Dothan City Cemetery with family friend Mr. James E. Lee officiating. There will be an opportunity for those who desire to share their stories about Fletcher.  Family First Funeral Care will be directing.

Mr. Moore was born in Dothan son of the late Earl Moore and Charlie B. Cox Moore. He served his country in the Army during the Korea War.  After being discharged from the Army, he graduated from the University of Alabama and was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Mr. Moore spent much of his career in Commercial Real Estate in Dothan and had formerly served as president of the Dothan Board of Realtors in 1981. He was active in numerous civic organizations and enjoyed photography, collecting antique cars, flying airplanes, fishing, and documenting local history.  In his later years, Mr. Moore enjoyed spending time with his daily coffee buddies. Mr. Moore was a loving and devoted son, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  The family would like to thank his devoted caregiver, Katie Eschbaugh, and the staff at Agape Hospice.  Other than his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son.  

Survivors include his daughter Marla (Moore) King and husband Robert King of Atlanta, his son Fletcher Marshall Moore of Taylor, a brother Tom Moore and wife Angie of Wicksburg, grandchildren Brendan King, Erinn King, Fletcher Marshall Moore, III and wife Carmen Armstrong Moore.
