Florine Holland Pate

Florine Holland Pate, age 98 of Ashford died early Thursday morning December 20, 2018 at Somerby of Santa Rosa Beach Senior Living Community.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday December 27, 2018 in the Covenant East United Methodist Church in Ashford with the Reverend Kyle Gatlin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ashford City Cemetery with Family First Funeral & Cremation Care directing.  The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 2:00 P.M. until service time.  Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Anderson, Wade Bayne, Guy Bruner, Rusty Burgess, Gerald Crowley, Paul Jeffcoat, Buddy Steward and Tommy Watson.

Florine was born in Dothan daughter of the late Agustus Holland and Julia Tucker Holland.  In her early years she lived in Madrid and Dothan and spent the remainder of her life in Ashford.  Florine worked at the Houston County Courthouse for many years firs in the tag office and later in the office of Probate Judge Bob Stembridge.  She had a love for flowers and was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Ashford.  Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Hazel Bush.

Survivors include her 2 sons Ruben Edred “Ed” Pate of Ashford, Richard “Ricky” Pate of Santa Rosa Beach, FL. a sister Jacqueline Anderson of Minneapolis, MN. 2 grandchildren Leigh Ann (Mark) Moyer of Marietta, Ga. Daniel M. (Shannon) Pate of Kansas City, MO, 2 great grandchildren Alex Moyer of Marietta, Ga. and Meghan Pate of Kansas City, MO.
