James Wayne Alford

Mr. James Wayne Alford, a resident of Headland, AL passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. He was 77.

            Funeral services will be at 1pm on Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Headland United Methodist Church with Rev. Misty Barrett officiating.  Care for the Alford family is being provided by Derek Wright, Jason Shepard, Randy Crenshaw & staff at Family First Funeral & Cremation Care.  Interment will follow in the Methodist Cemetery.

            The family will receive friends at the Methodist Church Sanctuary on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 12-1pm.  Pallbearers will be Jimmy Campbell, Charles Duncan, Warren Walker, Thomas Graydon, Jim Thompson, Lewie Helms

            Mr. Alford was born on August 7, 1941 in Luverne, Alabama.  He has been a resident of Headland, AL for the past 42 years. He was predeceased in death by his father, James Aubrey Alford and Mother, Cleone Rhodes Alford.   He is survived by his lovely wife, Ruby Alford of 53 years.  He is also, survived by two children, Vickie A.  (Justin) Hulsey of Carrollton, GA and Jeffrey W. (Chasity) Alford of Headland, AL.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jacob Landon Hulsey and Jalynn Leanna Hulsey of Carrollton, GA. and Alyssa Graydon Alford and Arthur James (AJ) Alford of Headland, AL. In addition he is survived by two sisters, Dr. Jean A. Thompson of Greenville, AL and Dr. Patricia A.  Floyd of Luverne, AL.

            Mr. Alford served in the Peanut Industry Business for over 25 years.  He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.  He was a member of the Headland United Methodist Church in Headland, AL.  He was a loving husband, adoring father, and a PaPa, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

            In Lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Headland United Methodist Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association.
