Mr. Judy B. Jackson, age 79 of Cowarts passed away late Thursday evening, December 20, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family and under the care of Covenant Hospice.

Funeral services for Mr. Jackson will be held at 2PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Cowarts Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Dunnam officiating. Burial will follow in the Cowarts Baptist Church cemetery with Family First Funeral & Cremation Care directing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cowarts Baptist Church, C/O Building Fund, 2855 Jordan Ave., Cowarts, AL 36321.

Born July 24, 1939 in Cowarts, Alabama, Mr. Judy was the only child of the late Willie Jennings and Wylene Kirkland Jackson. After graduation, Mr. Judy was a member of the Alabama Air National Guard for many years. He was a gifted salesman and worked in sales his entire adult life until he retired from Davis-Dyar Supply Company in 2016. A man of faith, Mr. Judy was a longtime member of Cowarts Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and a coordinator for Royal Ambassadors. During his down time, spending time with his family was most important but he also loved fishing and Alabama football.

Mr. Judy is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Catherine Jackson of Cowarts; a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Keith Strickland of Ashford; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Seth and Anna Strickland of Ashford; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wallace and Nell Williams of Dothan, Marcus and Jeanette Williams of Clayton, Doug Williams of Fadette; Martha Price of Fadette and Margaret Bond of Fadette and several cousins also survive.
