William Roosevelt Miller

William R. Miller, age 85 of Dothan and formerly of Fullerton, CA. died Monday evening January 7, 2019 at his residence after a long courageous battle with cancer and under the care of Kindred Hospice.

A celebration of life/reception will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.  Sunday January 20, 2019 in the Harvest United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.  Mr. Miller will be buried in Fullerton, CA.  Family First Funeral & Cremation Care is honored to be asked to orchestrate all arrangements.

Mr. Miller was born in Kinder, LA. son of the late Alcess Miller and Orelia Anne Lopez Miller.  William attended Texas A&M University and graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX.  He worked in Texas and California as a Mud Engineer (Drilling Fluids Engineer on oil & gas well drilling rigs) for the Magcobar Mud Corporation.  Mr. Miller was a U.S. Army combat veteran of the Korean War, member of the VFW Post #7806 and Golf League in Hiawassee, GA, a lifetime member of the DAV, one of the founders and first president of WAPDAH in Whittier, CA. and a member of Harvest United Methodist Church.  Other than his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife Joy of Dothan, 2 sons Thomas (Barbara) Miller of El Cajon, CA. John Mac Miller of Whittier, CA. daughter Linda (Leonard) Fiske of Eugene, OR. a step daughter Sonya (Wilkes) Robinson, two step sons Toby (Katrina) Seay, Stacy Seay all of Dothan, six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, five step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
