Charles Douglas Collins, age 75 of Headland passed away early Thursday morning, July 5, 2018 at a Dothan hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Collins will be held at 3PM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Headland with Dr. Cecil Sanders, Jr. officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in the Gardens of Memory with Family First Funeral Care and Derek Wright directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1PM until service time. Flowers will be accepted, or contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Headland, c/o Building Fund, 301 E. Mr. Collins was born May 31, 1943 in Dothan to the late Talmadge Delmus and Blanche Wood Snell Collins. He worked for many years with Swedish Match as a Logistics Manager. He also retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of Lt. Colonel. Mr. Collins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Norma Marchman Collins of Headland; a daughter and son-in-law, Shea and Jason Peters of Dothan; two step-sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Tiffany Skipper of Headland and Mark Skipper (Karen) of Grimes; a brother and sister-in-law, Tom “Butch” and Terri Collins of Decatur; a sister, Pat Tidwell of Newnan, GA; five grandchildren, Emily Peters, Makayla Peters, Briana Skipper, Blane Skipper and Hunter Skipper. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Serving as pallbearers at the church with be cousins and Honorary Pallbearers will be former Pee Wee Football players that he coached.
