Dava Gaskins Turnham

Dava Turnham age 81 of Dothan passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at SE Health following an illness. Per family wishes, a direct cremation will be performed with no service.

Dava was born September 24, 1941 in Florida to John David and Zinnie Bowers Gaskins. She worked in the healthcare field for many years taking care of patients. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crafting and painting. She also enjoyed gardening and loved flowers and going to yard sales. She was a Gators fan. She and Ronnie were foster parents to numerous foster children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John David Gaskins, Zinnie Bowers Gaskins; son Rickey Alday; daughter Donna Kay Alday; son-in-law Rickie Thompson; brother John David Gaskins; sisters Josephine Avrett, Beatrice Braddock, Zinnie Mae Sacra, Margret Gaskins, Juanita Newsom.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Ronnie Elmer Turnham; sons Richard Thomas Alday (Louise), Ronnie E. Turnham, Jr; daughter Glenda Ann Thompson; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Louise Yarberry; numerous foster children.
