Durwood Delane Thorpe

Durwood Thorpe age 86 of Dothan passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Westside Terrace of Dothan. His final wishes were to be cremated.

Durwood was born June 20, 1937 in Skipperville, Alabama to William Harvey Thorpe and Harriet Henderson Thorpe. He proudly served in the United States Army. After an honorable
discharge in 1968, he worked in the Grocery business as well as Retail Management and Real Estate Sales. Durwood and Willow were members of New Freedom Church of Webb,
Alabama. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Alabama Football, grilling and listening to old country music. He always planted a garden even though it didn’t flourish.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Harvey Thorpe, and Harriet Henderson Thorpe; Brothers Hugo, Karl and William Thorpe; Sisters Mabel and Hazel Thorpe.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Willow Dean Thorpe; son Barry Delane Thorpe (Stacie Christine Thorpe); daughter Cathe McCoy; grandchildren Connor Delane Thorpe (Michelle
Gass Thorpe), Keegan Alexandra Thorpe.
