Edward Jeffery Casler

Edward Casler age 74 of Dothan passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home.  Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 7, 2023, 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Family First Funeral Care with Pastor Don Clark officiating and military honors presented.  The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2023, 5-7 p.m. at Family First Funeral Care.

Edward was born March 6, 1948 in Oregon to John Casler and Henrietta Hanson Casler.  He proudly served in the Airforce.  He was awarded numerous ribbons and awards to include Airforce Training Ribbon, Airforce Longevity Service Award Ribbon, three bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Airforce Overseas long tour ribbon with one bronze oak leaf cluster, Airforce outstanding unit award with two bronze oak leaf clusters, Airforce good conduct medal with a  silver oak leaf cluster. 

He was a trumpet player and an Auburn Fan.  He enjoyed fishing, talking about his miliary career.  He had a great singing voice and sang in the church choir.  He also enjoyed the church dinner theater.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents; son Larry “Brandon” Arrington; brother Jack Casler.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Linda Henderson Casler of Dothan; son Jerry Lamar Hughes of Dothan; daughter Pamulia Meyer of Dothan; sisters Beccie Reilly (Bill) of Oregon City, Oregon, Janet Wheeland (Rod) of Nevada; sister-in-law Janice Casler of California; grandchildren Misty Dawn Hall (Kevin) of Ashford, David Allen Meyer of Dothan, Alexandria Hughes of Dothan; great grandchildren Landon Mullins of Ashford and Hunter Mullins of Ashford and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Rainbow Meadows Baptist Church of Napier Field.
