Gerald Stone, age 69 of Dallas, Texas (formerly Houston County, AL), passed away early Thursday morning, December 24, 2020 at Presbyterian Medical Center in Dallas following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Stone will be held at 1pm Saturday, January 2, 2020 in the Family First Chapel with Reverend Dennis Snell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10am until service time.
Mr. Gerald Louis Stone Sr. was born on January 24th 1951 to "Mr. Patterson" and Maime Lee Stone in Stuart Florida where he grew up and was well known within the community. He was a graduate of Martin County High School, class of 1968. Gerald took early interest in the transportation industry and was employed as a truck driver for over 20 years hauling various goods. He loved cooking, gambling, western movies, football, (Die Hard Miami fan), and was an excellent pool player. His love for his children motivated his move to Dothan AL, where he would spend most of his final years surrounded by children, grandchildren, and other family.
Mr. Gerald was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Julia Mae Stone, Mother: Maime Lee Stone Brown; Uncles: Henry, John, and Jeromey Stone; Aunt Mildred Stone; Loved one Charlie Mae Emory.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Valerie L Jones, Mother of his children; Dianne Jackson, Brother; Johnny Brown (Paulette), Sons: Tyrone (Ciera), Gerald Stone, Jr. (Victoria), Tracy Jackson Andrews (Monica) Tremaine Stone, and Cory Owens (Tammy). Daughters: Mae Jean Emory and Lakeesha Jones (Patrick) Grandchildren: Keeyana, Quartez, Devon, Mauryon, Justyce, Ty'sheeyana, Te'Niiyah, Tytus, Michah, Special Step Daughter: Sheki Hudson, Special friends: "Eugene Street Crew" Mike, Sharell, Gloria, Donna, Host of other relatives and friends
