Irell Marie Whitehead

Irell Marie Whitehead, age 31, of the Hodgesville Community, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at her home following a sudden bout of Covid 19.

Funeral services for Irell will be held at 2pm Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the Family First chapel with Reverend Thomas Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Madrid Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Irell is the daughter of Steve Jordan and Joyce Wright.  Irell grew up and went to school in Tampa, Florida.  Irell and her twin sister Virginia would go in each other’s classes starting as early as kindergarten. She sang in the youth choir.  Irell moved to Dothan 11 years ago. Her job as Assistant Manager at Dollar General in Rehobeth meant the world to her.  She had a love for everybody.  She always made people feel better.  She enjoyed going to the beach, watching Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Alabama football and cooking shows.

Irell is preceded in death by Grandfather LM Wright, Grandmother Virginia Gayle Wright, Grandmother Dianne Braswell, Uncle Robert Wright, Uncle Jackie Wright. 

Survivors include her husband Jim Whitehead; mother Joyce Wright and father Steve Jordan; father in law Gearld Harris; mother in law Mary Mexico; grandfather Earl Braswell, great grandmother Annette; grandmother in law Ida Mae Harris; grandmother in law Myrtle Leger; twin sister Virginia Harris (Lee), sisters Ashely Castro (Eddie), Crystal Hoffman (Curtis), Candace Jordan (Step sister); Nieces; Nina Swain, Savannah Castro, Gracie Harris, Bella Bryan, and Makinley; nephews JJ Castro, Ethan Swain, Aiden Swain, Tristan, Man Man; God daughters Brooklynn, Katelynn, Bella Kaylee Harris, and Baelynn; Aunt Sarah Knight, Aunt Mary Wright, Aunt Cheryl Uncle Donnie Burkett, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
