Obituary
Jeremiah Johnson, age 79 transitioned from his earthly dwelling to his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was surrounded by loved ones.
The homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 , 11:00am at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church – 11901 Fortner Street, Dothan, AL 36301. Reverend Lorne Berry will officiate with Reverend LeRoy McLeroy rendering Words of Comfort.
“Jerry” as he was often referred, was born August 22, 1943 in Clio, Alabama to the late R.Q. Johnson and Bernice Johnson Irving. He is preceded in death by two children: Theresa Reese, James Shane Reese, five siblings: Daniel, James , Jimmy and Joann Johnson and Martha Turner.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Betty Johnson, five children: Bobby Joe Brewer, Timothy Reese, Dennis Johnson, Yvonne Johnson, and Jeremiah Johnson, Jr.. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his loss the following siblings: (brothers) Roy, Danny, Joe and Terry Johnson, (sisters) Poly, Ruth, Sarah, Faye, Arlene, Amanda, Blondell, Janie, and Jannie. A very special aunt in Celia Smith and Betty Hampton and a trusted and faithful cousin, Joe Myles.
