Joann M. Colebrook

Joann Colebrook, a resident of Dothan passed away, Friday September 24, 2021 at Southeast Health.  She was 37.  Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Family First Funeral Care Chapel.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in the chapel.  In her memory the family is asking that no black is worn on that day and if possible, everyone wear pink.

November 24th, 1983, on the beautiful island of Nassau Bahamas; a beautiful baby girl inhaled the breath of life. Given the name Joann Marilyn McQuay, she brought great joy and rejoicing to the lives of her parents. She grew up a jovial, outgoing, and industrious woman, surrounded by the love of her parents, three sisters and many family members.

 Joann obtained her early education from Willa-Mae Pratt Primary, and a short period at P.A. Gibson Primary. She later went on to continue her secondary education at R.M. Bailey High School. Growing up in the straw market Joann knew how to work from a very young age, as a young adult she found her passion in the Culinary Arts and later became a Chef at Sandals Resort and many local restaurants. A very industrious and ambitious woman, she also worked as a Security Guard. Joann was one that loved to provide for her children and did her very best at all times. Joann’s ambition later on led her to relocate to United States.

 Joann was predeceased by her Mother: Gidgette Ramsey.

 Left to cherish her fond memories are her Father: Joseph McQuay her Kids: William Gibson Jr., Jackson and Miracle Colebrook. Sisters and Bother-In-Law Joeranda & Javon Braynen, Gidgette Ramsey, and Josephine McQuay. Uncles: Matthew McCardy, Etienne Johnson. Aunts: Claudina Kelly, Christine Johnson, and Franctia Brice, Angeline Smith, Nadine Vannoy, Carolyn Coakley, Phillippa Pinder. Nephews and Nieces: Jaylen and Jayce Braynen, Ephesias Pinder Jr., Johnell Ramsey, and Gidgette Ramsey 3rd, Dondesha Deleveaux, Donavin Miller Jaden, Aiden and Shaniya Davis. Grandniece: Shaquyla Davis, Cousins: Devon Johnson, Raymond Alcock Mateo, and Algernon Matthew, McCardy Jr. Blanton Gibson Jr., Claudina Kelly, Royanna Woodside, Bianca Bullard, Blandria Gibson, Tamera McCardy, Ekwensi Hutcheson Shaphan, and Tyrus Cartwright Cravon, and Marlon Lewis, Andrew Johnson, Brain Miller Clifford, and Nako Brice, Adeshia Brice, Egia-Lynn Collie, Lorette Isaacs, Ashlyn Smith, Candese Rolle, Karishma Cartwright, Nadia White, Anishka, Sonia, Alexia, Deandrea, Donald, Anthony, and Michael Horton’s Other Relatives & Friends too numerous to mention Nichole Downey and Family Philippa and Family Allison Brande Wolf.
