Julian Waymon Joiner

Julian Waymon Joiner, age 76 of Dothan, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Flowers Hospital following a brief illness.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3pm Monday, June 28, 2021 in the chapel of Family First Funeral Care with Chaplain John Gormley officiating. A family gathering will begin at 2pm on Monday, one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main St., Suite 3, Dothan, AL 36301. Julian was born on February 18, 1945 in Dothan, to the late Deck Joiner and Verbie Louise Moss Whitehead. After being born in Dothan, he spent the early years of his life in Campbellton, FL, and graduated from Campbellton High School. Immediately upon graduation, he joined and honorably served our country in the United States Navy. Following his tour of duty, Julian began a career in retail sales, working for various outlets such as Kress, T G & Y and, Dollar General, retiring as a District Manager. Following his retirement, he began a small used car lot, Joiner Auto Sales. Julian loved to spend his time fishing and his time with family. He was also of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Julian is preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Joiner Dickerson and a brother, Wynon Joiner. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bruce (Sonia) Joiner of Dothan and Jonathan Joiner, also of Dothan; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Michelle (David Lee) Gravitt of Chattanooga, TN, Debbie (David) Railey of Lincoln, Natalie Joiner of Dothan, and Jordyn Joiner of Dothan; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Wayne (Dianne) Joyner of Dothan; a sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn Ann (Terry) Green of Rehobeth. In addition, Julian is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.
