Leonard  Alvin  “Big L”  Tucker

Leonard Alvin “Big L” Tucker, age 47 of Slocomb, passed away Thursday evening, January 23, 2020 in a local hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services for “Big L” will be held at 11am Tuesday morning, January 28, 2020 in the chapel at Family First Funeral Care with George H. Ellison officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 6pm Monday evening, January 27, 2020 at the funeral home.

Leonard, known by most as “Big L” was born in Panama City, FL on November 15, 1972 to the late James Olin and Daisy Harden Tucker. He was a graduate of Dothan High School, class of 1990. “Big L” lived most all his life in the Wiregrass, the past 21 years in the immediate Dothan area. He was a long-haul truck driver, having formerly worked for AMX Trucking, N&J Trucking, PTI Trucking and most recently for Benny Whitehead Trucking. In his spare time, hunting, fishing and playing guitar was things he enjoyed, but what made him happiest was being with his friends. “Big L” never met a stranger and if anyone was ever in need, he would be there to help them out. He had a big heart and will be greatly missed by his many friends, but especially by his loving family.

In addition to his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by a brother, Greg Tucker. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 21 years, Melissa Tucker; a daughter, Misty Lynn Tucker and a son, Justin Michael Tucker; five brothers, Tony Tucker, Billy Tucker, Jimmy Tucker, Randy Tucker and Phillip Moore. In addition, he is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Priscilla Lowe as well and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
