Mrs. Lorene Johnson age 84 of Dothan passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Flowers Hospital following an illness.  The family will receive friends Friday, June 23, 2023 at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11 a.m. Family First Funeral Care Chapel with Revered Johnny Saffold and Elder Michell Saffold officiating. 

Lorene was born October 13, 1938 in Dothan, Alabama to John A. Saffold and Ida Mae Dawsey Saffold.  She loved going to Church.  She enjoyed working, shopping, flowers. She was very outgoing.  She loved being with her family, watching soap operas and Judge Judy. 

She is preceded in death by her parents John A. Saffold and Ida Mae Dawsey Saffold; daughter Patricia Costa; brothers Harvey Saffold, Whittie James Saffold; sisters Mabel Gulford, Johnnie Sherrell, Tressie Streeter.

Left to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years Lester Johnson; her only grandson Arsene L. Costa (Jaqueline); son-in-law Arsene Randolph Costa; great-grandchildren Darnel Green, Lamont Banner, Neshawn DaCosta, Raquan DaCosta, Shamasia Costa, Mar-vel Payne, Rose Bud Whitney, Arjanae Costa; brothers Johnny C. Saffold (Earenstine), Michell Saffold (Teresa); sisters Sara Alford (Leroy), Joan Wilcox (Charles), Elizabeth Branch; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
