Merdarius Qumaine Henry

On the morning of March 8, 2021, Merdarius Qumaine “Mookie” Henry was called home.

Funeral services for Merdarius will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in the Family First Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Friday evening at the funeral home. Common sense social distancing shall be recognized.

Merdarius was born June 29, 1991, in Dothan, Alabama to Jacquelyn T. Boatwright and Michael Henry. He was a dedicated member of Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and had attended Northview High School. He was an employee of Wayne’s Farm’s until his disability. Merdarius enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as attending car shows. One thing that many will remember and miss about Merdarius is how he would always say “I love you” and he ended a phone conversation, and the fact that he loved his mother unconditionally and was always thinking of her.

Merdarius was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ray Boatwright and James Henry.

Merdarius leaves to cherish his mother, Jacquelyn Boatwright of Dothan, and his father, Michael Henry, of Jakin, Georgia; two brothers, Zacorius Glanton and Kenneth Thornton, Jr., both of Dothan; one sister, My’eisha Henry of Donaldsonville, GA; maternal grandmother, Elmeta Boatwright of Dothan and, paternal grandmother, Lois Henry of Jakin, GA. Maternal Grandfather David Glanton (Maxine), Jacksonville, Fl.  Merdarius is also survived by his favorite niece, Kennedy Thornton, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, as well as other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
