Myrtle Ann Leger age 76 of Dothan, Alabama passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at Family First Funeral Care Chapel on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 2 p.m. with Chaplain Daulton Keel officiating. Burial will follow in Midland City, city cemetery. The family will accept friends beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Myrtle was born September 1,1946 in Donalsonville, Georgia to Houston Jackson and Eva Hancock Jackson. She enjoyed taking walks, spending time with her children and grandchildren, KFC chicken, country and gospel music and going to the Grand Ole Opry with her husband when it was in Dothan.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years Junior Leger; her parents; son Ray Leger; sisters Frances Cutchens, Claire Fay Deese; granddaughter Irell Whitehead; grandson Phillip Senn.
Survivors include her sons Dewayne Leger, Cecil Leger; daughters Mary Leger (Gerald Harris), Ida Mae Mathis (John “Eddie); brothers Ronald Jackson, Irvin Jackson (Cindy), Thomas (Tommy) Jackson (Sheila); sisters Brenda Jackson, Emma Hysmith; grandchildren William Lee Harris (Virginia); Jim Whitehead, Howard Harris, Marie Harris, Sandy Harris, Cynthia, Amy, Roy, Wilmer Harris (Kimberly) and 13 great grandchildren.
