Ossie Campbell Obituary

Ossie Lee “D” Campbell

Ossie Campbell age 82 of Dothan passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Flowers Hospital with his family by his side.    Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 11, 2023, 11 a.m. at Family First Funeral Care Chapel.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, May 10, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Campbell was born January 20, 1943 in Georgia to Luke Coley and Maddie Campbell Ewing.  He has been a resident of Dothan for over 60 years.  Ossie enjoyed working on cars, not only working on cars he loved racing them as well.  He enjoyed playing checkers, spending time with his buddies, watching TV… his favorite was the Westerns and the Andy Griffith show.  He was known to be a fast runner, his physical strength was that which appeared to be near super human and his mental strength was just as powerful, a family man having a heart of gold.  He was a great provider for his family and also a blessing to others.  He did try to help everyone.  Ossie had his own personal relationship with God.  Indeed it was a job well done and a life well-lived.  For the most part, he did it his way.

He deserves to rest.

He was employed at Dothan Vault Company where he remained until his injury March 1979.

Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Mc Glon; son Kenneth McGlon, Johnny McGlon; brothers Ozell Campbell, Ezell Campbell, Flozell Campbell, Lancezell Campbell, Eddie James Campbell, Eddie Lee Campbell(whereabouts unknown); sister Autherine Jones.
