Ray Stewart age 86 of Dothan passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at Southeast Health.  Funeral Service for Mr. Stewart will be Friday, January 13, 2023, Family First Funeral Care Chapel 11 a.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery (3720 Caverns Road, Marianna, Florida) where Masonic Rites will be presented. 

Ray was born November 23, 1936 in Dade County, Florida to John William Stewart and Ethel Allene Banks Stewart.  He was a resident of Florida the majority of his life until moving to Dothan in 2005.  He was a member of Westgate Church of Christ.  He has been a Mason for 54 years.  He currently attended the Ashford Masonic Lodge #493.  He served in the Marine reserve.  He was an aircraft mechanic for over 30 years.  He also worked at Jackson County Sherriff’s Office.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, John William Stewart and Ethel Allene Banks Stewart.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sharon Paulette Simmons Stewart; son Kenneth (Laura) Stewart of Cottonwood; daughter Etwinda (D.J.) Davis of New Meadows, Idaho; brother Edwin (June) Stewart of Virginia; 5 grandchildren Haley, Heather, Joshua, Nicole, Thomson; 8 great grandchildren Aidan, Nadia, Aurthur, Sharon, Bentley, Jackson, Xavier, Killian and one on the way.
