Richard John “Ricky” Smith

 

Ricky Smith, age 69 of Slocomb, passed away at Flowers Hospital on Friday, September 22, 2023.  A gathering of friends will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Family First Funeral Care Chapel. 

 

Ricky was born April 4, 1954 in Pavo, Georgia to Earl Benson Smith and Jeanine Feroumont Smith.  He worked at Allied Motion, formerly Globe Motors, for 49 years as a dedicated tool maker.  He was a simple, family man.  He enjoyed watching Alabama football, working on his farm, taking care of his animals and being on his tractor.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and liked a good bargain. Ricky was crazy about his grandchildren, especially watching them play baseball and volleyball.  

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jeanine Smith. 

 

Survivors include his wife of 43 years Pam Smith; son Jonathan Smith (Chancy); daughter Shanna Maxwell (John); grandchildren John Allen Jordan (Madison), Gavin Williams, Greyson Sinquefield, Max Sinquefield, Ryleigh Smith, Tyler Smith, Maddie Maxwell; great grandson Beau Jordan; sister Kelly Moore (Kenneth); nephews Ben Moore (April), Chad Holland (Pam); great nephew Grant Moore; great nieces Katelyn Holland, Madison Holland, and Katherine Moore; and beloved fur baby Ozzy. 

 

Family and friends are welcome to fellowship at the family home in Slocomb immediately following the visitation.
