Sandra Ellison Obituary

Sandra Carter Ellison, age 71 of Dothan, died late Thursday evening, August 20, 2020 at a local Dothan hospital.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the Dothan Church of God with Reverend Tom Anderson, and Reverent Tarry Hart officiating. Burial will follow on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Valhalla Memorial Gardens at 8730 Sims Road in Eight Mile with Family First Funeral Care directing.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Dothan Church of God (where all monies received will go to Missions), 601 Hedstrom Drive, Dothan, Alabama.

Mrs. Ellison was born March 24, 1949 in Mobile to the late Alvin Henry and Lois Broxton Carter. She retired from Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club Warehouse with more that 25 years of service as the Personnel Manager at Southside Wal-Mart. Mrs. Ellison was also a member of the Dothan Church of God where her husband, Pastor George Ellison has faithfully served as Pastor for many years.

Survivors include her husband, George Ellison of Dothan; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Genry (Heather) Ellison of Lucedale, MS and Mark Ellison of Winter Garden, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Dayla and Ben Baugh of Hoover; nine grandchildren, Genry Isaiah Ellison, Lindsey Ellison, Jacob Ellison, Alexis Ellison, Anna Grace Ellison, Jonathan Ellison, Benjamin Baugh, Broxton Baugh and Adeline Baugh. Mrs. Ellison is also survived by four brothers and two sisters.
