Sandra Pauline Still Whitaker

Sandra Whitaker, age 72 a lifelong resident of Cowarts passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at her home following an illness.  A memorial service will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. at Cowarts Baptist Church with  Pastor Tony Deese officiating. 

Sandra was born December 17, 1950 at Moody Hospital in Dothan, Alabama to Horace C. Still and Sybil Bowell Still.  She was a 1969 graduate of Ashford High School and obtained an Associate’s Degree from Wallace Community College. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister and Aunt.  She also was a long-time member of Cowarts Baptist Church and was an avid church worker.  She especially enjoyed working in the nursery taking care of the children.  She liked to take walks, plant flowers and watch Alabama Football. She also loved the color green and frogs. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Kenneth H. Still and R. Mark Still; brother-in-law Terry Beard.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Danny E. Whitaker; son Clifton Whitaker and wife Haley; brother Tommy David Still (Laronda); sister Vicki Still Beard; several nieces and nephews.
