Mr. Steven L. Smith

Mr. Steven L. Smith, 57, of Dothan, passed away Thursday morning, June 11, 2020, at Wiregrass Nursing Home in Geneva after an extended illness.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a time and date to be announced. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Family First Funeral Care, 965 Woodland Drive, Dothan, AL 36301.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Wiregrass Nursing Home for the excellent and compassionate care devoted to Steve during his stay.

Mr. Smith was born March 26, 1963, in Houston County, Alabama, the son of Jerry Lamar and Paulette Driskell Smith. He was a 1981 graduate of Slocomb High School. Following high school, he served in the Army National Guard. He attended Troy State University and made a career in retail management. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Paulette Driskell Smith, Dothan; three daughters, Jennifer Smith Barranco (Vince), Skipperville, Shelby Smith, Ozark, and Abby Smith, Midland City; step-daughter, Krista Greathouse Pearson, Summerville, S.C.; step-son, Kameron Greathouse, Midland City; two brothers, Malcolm Karl Smith (Kellie), Slocomb; David Smith, Dothan; 13 grandchildren, Braxton Barranco, Peyton Barranco, Easton Barranco, Christopher Carter, Nala Carter, Layla Carter, Colby Massey, Cayden Allen, Presley Greathouse, Shaylee Greathouse, Ayden Pearson, Charleigh Pearson, Raylan Pearson. Also surviving are two nieces, Brittany Smith, Kiley Smith Bolden (Darien); and four nephews, Skylar Smith; Brett Singletary (Hillary); Evan Ballard (Hannah); John David Ballard.
